Danis Medyanik
Dainis Medyanik is a violinist, originally from Ogre, Latvia. His first violin lessons began at the age of 7. He studied at the Jurmala Music School and then at the Emil Darzin Music School. In 2009, he received the "Grand Prix" at the international Rising Stars Competition and was awarded participation in the Copenhagen Summer Festival 2009 (Danmark). In 2011, he entered the Hannover Conservatory of Music to join the world-renowned Professor Krzysztof Wegrzyn, founder and CEO of the Internationaler Joseph Joachim Violinwettbewerb Hannover competition. In 2013, he received the award as the best student of master classes in Spain, Avila. He was regularly awarded scholarships such as: “Förderkreis der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover“ and ”Musik braucht Freunde“, ”The most prominent student of violin in Masterclass Spaincellence 2013 Avila“, ”Jugendpreis der Lions Club Cloppenburg“, ”Musikpreis der Lions Club Cloppenburg“, "Förderkreis der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover” and “Musik braucht Freund". Since 2017, he has been performing as a soloist and concertmaster, participating in a tour of China with the Philharmonisches Filmorchester Berlin Babelsberg. In 2015, he was awarded the “Live Music Now by Yehudi Menuhin” scholarship, which allows him to perform concerts throughout Germany. In the same year, he became a laureate of the 54th Premio Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa (Italy), and became one of the 6 best violinists in the world. In 2016, he was awarded a scholarship by Gundlach Musikpreis Dainis has given concerts in Indonesia, China, Spain, England, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Venice, Austria, Switzerland, as well as in various cities of Germany. As a soloist, he performed with “Kammerorchester des Niedersächsischen Staatstheater Hannover”, “Orchestra della Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice de Genova". He took master classes from world-renowned professors: Petru Munteanu, Vladimir Klochko, Felix Aendreevsky, Marina Kesselman, Maurizio Fuchs, Zakhar Bron. Dainis plays the Sebastian Klotz violin (1782), which was awarded to him by the Stiftung Niedersachsen Foundation. Member of the jury of the Rising Stars competition and a regular participant in projects organized by the International Talent Center.
Maria Virki
Maria Virki, a bright pianist, laureate of international competitions and multiple winner of prizes from the Ministry of Culture of Latvia, proved her professional skills by receiving prizes at piano competitions and festivals, as well as giving solo concerts. Among her achievements are two Grand Prix awards at the Mikhail Kazinik Rising Stars Competition (2023, 2024), second place at the Inese Galante Talents Competition (2022, 2023), a platinum award at the London Youth Piano International Online Competition (2022), and a gold medal at the international online competition in Canada (2022) and other awards.
Maria Virki studied piano at the Pardaugava School of Music and Art with Elena Flegontova and Yazep Medins, and at the Riga Music High School with Gunta Bozhi. Currently, the young artist continues her piano studies at the Latvian Music Academy named after Yazep Vitols with Professor Juris Kalnciems and replenishes her knowledge at master classes of representatives of the outstanding generation of the industry - Professor of the Juilliard School Mati Raekallio, Professor of the Luxembourg Conservatory Jean Miller, Professor of the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts Konstantin Semilakov.
